The Sales Project Manager plays a vital role in bridging the gap between the sales team, clients, and internal project delivery teams. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Professional Services projects, from initial scoping and quotation to delivery and support. The Sales Project Manager identifies potential problems, proposes effective solutions, and ensures that any significant issues are escalated to management when necessary.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Quotation Assistance: Collaborating with the sales team to prepare accurate and competitive quotations. This may involve analyzing project requirements, estimating resources, and calculating costs.
- Service Delivery Coordination: Ensuring that the project is delivered according to the agreed timeline and quality standards. This includes coordinating with different teams (technical, operational, etc.) to fulfill service commitments.
- End-to-End Project Execution: Taking ownership of projects from initiation through to completion. This means managing project plans, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Budget Management: Monitoring project budgets to ensure expenditure is within the allocated amounts. This involves regular financial reporting and adjusting as necessary to stay within budget constraints.
- Compliance with SLA and SOW: Ensuring that all service-level agreements (SLAs) and statements of work (SOW) are met. This requires regular communication with stakeholders and addressing any issues that may arise.
- Reporting and Communication: Keeping all stakeholders informed about project progress, risks, and changes. This may involve regular meetings, status reports, and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational Background:
Relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Project Management certified, or PRINCE2 proficiency in project management methodologies.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:
- Proven experience in project management, specifically within a sales or professional services environment. Typically, 3-5 years of project management experience is preferred.
- Experience in stakeholder management and working with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello) and tools such as Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and documentation.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) can be a plus.
- Ability to assess project risks, identify problems, and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to negotiate project scope, timelines, and resources effectively with stakeholders and clients.
- Familiarity with the sales lifecycle and how professional services projects integrate within it.
